KK’s opened its doors over two decades ago with a dream in mind to provide stay-at-home moms an opportunity to create small businesses while maintaining their primary job at home. Over 20 years later, new owner Becky Taylor continues to carry the original dream by not only providing stay-at-home moms the same business opportunity, but also vendors from all walks of life the opportunity to explore their entrepreneurial side. With over 200 booths, KK’s is more than just a mall, it’s a shopping experience!
I have been an avid shopper of KK's Corner Mall for numerous of years. Becky and her staff are always so friendly and helpful! It's one of the reasons I joined in as a vendor. There truly is something for everyone! If you want an ALL-IN-ONE experience, this is the place to be!
Brenda Watts along with her friend, Steve Snell, established a leather working studio in their home 15 years ago.
Together they decide on the next project and then Steve creates the patterns and delivers the individual pieces of leather to Brenda. After stamping the leather, Brenda utilizes an old, traditional art style known as “block dyeing” to achieve the colors and textures. Finally, Steve takes the finished leather “canvases” and assembles the pieces into the final product. It is truly a collaborative effort.
Their work has resulted in a broad range of functional leather art including purses, belts, wrist cuffs, chokers, luggage, earrings, totes, journals, and much more.
Brenda and Steve were honored by the State of Texas Commission on the Arts when selected as “Texas Original” artists.
We have done many Studio Tours and The Lubbock Arts Festival, but, we are only allowed to show our leather at these venues. I have been at KK's Corner Mall nearly a year and I appreciate being able to not only sell our leather products but, our jewelry and other items that I have collected along the way.
